Introduction

Composite Regional Center for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC) Lucknow, an external arm of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (Divyangjan), New Delhi is an autonomous body working under administrative & financial control of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The center has been providing comprehensive rehabilitation services such as Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Speech & Hearing, Prosthesis & Orthosis, Clinical Psychology, and Special Education services. Besides providing mobility and hearing aids, vocational guidance & counseling, to persons with disabilities belonging to the state of Uttar Pradesh. The institute also conducts outreach Camp services to the Persons with Disabilities population of Uttar Pradesh state and organizes skill-training programs. The institute also runs diploma in special education, a two-year course having specialization in Visual Impairment & Intellectual Disabilities with 35 intake per year.


Vision & Mission

  1. Liasioning with State Government for setting up EICs in every district of Uttar Pradesh based on EICs of DEPwD.
  2. Collaboration & convergence with UNICEF, UNDP, Tata Trusts, SSA, ICDS, Airports Authority of India, ASHA, etc.
  3. Skill College
  4. Family cottage service with centre based mothers training programme.
  5. Training of almost 01 lakh newly elected Gram Pradhan & Panchayat Representatives on RPwD, UDID & other important schemes.
  6. Reaching all 822 blocks of Uttar Pradesh for MHRH & EIC promotion.
  7. Development of adapted sports arena.
  8. Establishment / revival of DDRCs in aspirational districts of Uttar Pradesh in mentorship of CRC, Lucknow.
  9. State of art / model departmental equipped with hi-tech digital devices & technology at the centre.
  10. New HRD courses as per the recommendation of DEPwD.
  11. Promotion of DPOs on newly added disabilities.
  12. Special collaboration with IIT Kanpur for one stop solution to meet digital need of Divyangjan.
  13. Development of e-awareness manuals on COVID appropriate life-skills for different disabilities in Hindi.
  14. Special collaboration with State Government on certification of children with intellectual disabilities.
  15. Sharing of best practices with all NIs & CRCs.
  16. Achieving mentorship status for model services delivery agency in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
  17. Development of e-awareness posters (bilingual) on 21 disabilities.
  18. Establishment of entrepreneurship development centre for divyangjan to foster the entrepreneurship aptitude.
  19. Maximum internal accrual generation through CSR, CREs & HRD initiatives.
